Planning a Staycation

Did you know you can sell all or a portion of a life insurance policy, even term insurance?

Let’s face it––you’ve been through enough in the past year. The pandemic has kept all of us distanced from our loved ones and our loved destinations, too. And while some of us have been able to travel, despite the health risks that come with it, a majority of us have had to stay home, watching from the metaphorical windowsill, hoping for the opportunity to go on vacation.

Well, don’t fret any longer because you can have your fun in the sun or your paradise in the ice with your very own staycation! But…what is a staycation, you ask?

A staycation is a stay-at-home vacation, meaning that you don’t have to worry about packing, spending money on plane tickets, or risking exposure to the coronavirus! In order to make the most of your staycation, here are some starter ideas and necessary tips that are a surefire way to make your home feel like your most desired destination.

Plan to take a nap. We’re usually up all day every day, so you deserve to take a nap on your staycation. Lounging around in your pajamas or your robe should help you reach a desired level of comfortability. Naps help us rejuvenate and replenish our energy levels. If you don’t want to accidentally sleep the day away, set a timer for 30-45 minutes, and notice how productive you’ll be after a short sleeping spell.

Watch your favorite daytime show. You haven’t watched reruns of The Golden Girls, Walker Texas Ranger, or The Young and the Restless in quite some time. Now’s your chance to do it! Grab a cup of coffee, water, tea, your favorite snack, and a nice blanket and you’re all set.

Set the atmosphere with some good music and decorations. Music is one of the keys to the soul. Whether you’re into Classical, Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz, or Gospel, you’ll be able to find a mental escape with the right tune. When it comes down to decorations, you may place a bouquet of flowers, favorite statement pieces, or frequently read books on a table near your entrance.

Order a nice meal. This is your time to relax. Don’t stress about what you’re going to fix for dinner. Apps like DoorDash and Grubhub make food delivery a piece of cake, and while you’re at it, go ahead and indulge in that cake if you can! If you want to make things fancier, you could take out your special kitchenware and set your dinner table.

Life during the pandemic doesn’t have to be mundane, and a staycation is a good alternative to the boredom that seems to have enshrouded the world. Happy planning!
